Iāll admit, when my dear friend Restie asked me for a brief note on my favorite sermon, I panicked a little because Iāve been inspired over the years by so many preachers and divine messages. How could I possibly pick one? It was a little overwhelming š
Regardless, I set about choosing one that spoke so deeply to me and best reflected my feelings. As many can attest, the Christian journey is not an easy one! You have to make the choice daily to trust, have faith and follow God and some days this feels practically impossible but hey! He works in mysterious ways, right?š
Sooo this brings me to my next point, MY favorite sermon! Iāve gone the unconventional route and rather chosen my favorite song as my sermon. Namely, “The story Iāll tell” by Maverick music ft Naomi Raine. From the first listen, this song not only spoke to me, but it also preached to me and it understood me. It perfectly captured exactly how I would describe God’s faithfulness in my life. For instance, one of my favorite lines states,
āWhen I can’t see what You’re doin’, I know that You’re proving
You’re the God who comes throughā
It reminded me that even in the unknown, I can still find peace because God is still the same able and capable God he has always been and never fails to keep his promises. Another notable verse says,
āAnd it’s hard to see what You are doin’ here in the ruins and where this will lead but I know that down through the years, Iāll look on this moment and see your hand on it and know you were hereā
This is one of the most powerful lines in any song Iāve ever heard because itās pure, unarguable truth. So many times Iāve felt as if nothing makes sense and Iām left sad, lost and confused about why things have worked out in an unfair, negative way and then later, when God unveils his perfect plan, suddenly everything becomes clear and Itās in that clarity where the power and wisdom of God are revealed.
It reminds me that Godās magnificence is not only humbling but ever-present and unrivalled.
This song continues to stay with me serving as a continuous reference in my weakest moments, reminding me that my God does not fail, itās the story ill ALWAYS tell!!!
Now youāll forgive me for not following the assignment precisely as asked, but In this song, I have found a teaching that has awakened my spirit, strengthened my faith, encouraged and inspired me to be a better version of myself and most importantly brought me closer to God. Now Isnāt that what the best sermons are meant to do? š xx
Blessings always Xx Danielle.
