Finally Understood!

Hi, I’m Resty Kansiime Agaba — a Ugandan (Mutooro) woman, wife, mother, writer, and founder of The SHECentre Platform. I live in Germany, but my heart beats deeply for East Africa, where my story and purpose began. (“Abooki” is my empako — a pet name given in my culture as a traditional sign of respect and affection.)

Raised by strong women — my mother and grandmother — I learned early the power of faith, prayer, and resilience. But as I grew older, I often felt misunderstood, even by those closest to me. Before the pandemic, I began to develop a thirst for Jesus that was deeper than anything I had ever known.

At 30, during one of the hardest seasons of my life, a friend (shoutout to Roberta!) shared a sermon from Elevation Church titled “When the Battle Chooses You.” That message changed everything. I started falling more in love with Jesus and found peace in His presence even amid pain, chaos, and isolation.

Instead of journaling about my fears, I began journaling about sermons that spoke to me and how they helped me understand my life. This practice birthed my first blog, My Favorite Sermons, where I shared how God was using sermons to guide me through healing and growth.

Over time, I began inviting other women to share their experiences and testimonies through their own favorite sermons — stories that revealed how God’s Word was transforming lives in personal and powerful ways.

In 2020, God gave me a clear calling: to use my pain for purpose — to help women heal, rediscover identity, and walk boldly in their God-given calling. That calling deepened after a turning point in 2023, when I lost my job and found out I was expecting a child. Instead of giving in to fear, I chose to fully dedicate my time to the vision God had placed on my heart.

That vision became SHECentre — a digital platform empowering women from East Africa and the diaspora to heal, grow, and live purposefully. I first launched SHECentre: The Female Podcast, where I’ve been amplifying women’s voices for over two years.

In the first year, I asked my guests a powerful question: “What happened to you?” — creating space for women to share how their past experiences shaped who they are. In the second year, I asked: “Are you living in your purpose?” — inspiring conversations about growth, healing, and calling.

Alongside the podcast, I’ve published my first book, a devotional, Fearfully and Wonderfully Made: A 21-Day Journey Through Psalm 139, available in two designs. This devotional helps readers discover their God-given identity, purpose, and worth — truths I’ve learned to live out in my own journey.

Through writing, storytelling, and authentic conversations, I aim to help women rebuild confidence, rediscover identity, and rise into who God created them to be.
